Wheewww!!!! What a past couple of days. Broke my network countless times trying to figure out how to use NAT on Proxmox. I could not, for the life of me, get it figured out. I tried using iptables like so many people said to do. I tried at least 5 people’s suggestions and none of them got it work. I was simply trying to pass one of my machine’s RDP 3389 port to 13389 on the WAN interface, but I had absolutely no luck. So until someone sees this and tells me they know how to do it and want to give it a shot, I’m not thinking it’s going to happen. Down the road, I may ask my provider if there is any way to get a second IP address for my second server interface.
All in all, I’m LOVING having my own dedicated infrastructure in the cloud. I know I bought a dedicated server, but I am virtualizing an entire enterprise infrastructure at this point. Best part is the ping times and speed between machines on the network since they are all the same machine. It’s pretty cool.
The only thing that I’m really even slightly concerned about is redundancy. I’m not sure where I am going to find another deal like I did for this server so that I can set up replication of 33TB of data in the event something were to happen to the data center that I’m currently hosting with.
