Lots of hurdles faced today; lots of hurdles overcome today. (Well, okay, technically it was yesterday that bled into the wee hours of morning)

This project today has been something else. I have had to reimage a server after going to pick it up, drop it back off, then use an image taken before breaking it to use as a test bed for the changes I’ll make to the real server. I have to be really careful with making these kinds of changes because I am doing it remotely and anything that breaks the network connection, kicks me out.

Earlier I managed to delete the entire users OU in Active Directory so the only way out of that was to completely restore a backup that had luckily been taken about an hour prior to FUBARing the system. Really made me happy that I could just restore it and not have to try to figure out how in the world I was going to get all of those users figured out and put back in, not to mention the headache that would have been trying to change all the credentials on stored services. Ugh. No. Thank. You.

Also – Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you brought it in surrounded by those that you love and that love you. 🙂
